About Dr. Robinson

Dr Ward Robinson
Dr. Ward Robinson is the Medical Director of the Guilford County Department of Public Health. A native North Carolinian, he has lived in Guilford County for 21 years. He earned a BA degree at Duke University in 1975 and his MD degree at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1979. Internship and residency in Internal Medicine at East Carolina University were followed by training in Infectious Diseases at the University of Utah. After working with Moses Cone Health System for twenty years as Infectious Disease consultant and hospital epidemiologist, he entered the public health field. He is Professor of Medicine of the clinical faculty of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the Infectious Diseases Society of Medicine and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. His wife of 30 years went to NC State, his two sons are at NC State and Carolina; proving that peaceful coexistence is possible.
